45th Terrell Invitational

Tournament Rules

 

1.    The participants in the TERRELL INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT must be a member of the USBC. The tournament shall consist of Open five-member team event; doubles event; singles event; and all-events.  Teams may be comprised of 5 Men, 5 Women or any combination (mixed). Doubles may be 2 Men, 2 Women or Mixed. No singles only entries permitted; singles must be bowled in conjunction with a doubles entry and shall be bowled with first scheduled doubles of tournament (if multiple doubles with same paid entry, singles shall be bowled with first doubles). The tournament will be bowled with doubles event first; then singles. There shall be 10 minutes practice prior to team and doubles events.

 

2.    Team, Doubles, Singles and All-Events will be on a handicap basis. Optional Scratch events are available see rule 13 & 14 below.  Handicap will be based on 80% of the difference in each bowler’s average and 220.  Averages to be used will be the highest book average of the past two years, 2007-2008 or 2008-2009 season.  Bowlers who do not have a book average may use the highest current 21 game league average as of the previous week; in case of multiple entries this will be the week prior to the first week of bowlers’ participation.  (Average verification must be provided prior to competition or bowler must bowl scratch).  If a bowler does not have a legal average, he or she may enter the tournament with a scratch average of 220.   Only USBC sanctioned averages may be used (Highest book average shall be used without regards to membership affiliation).  It shall be the bowler’s responsibility to provide average verification information.  Please provide a copy of book average (if other than Dallas Associations) with entry to expedite average verifications.  If average is from a Sport League average, it will be re-rated based on official USBC average adjustment chart.   The 10-pin rule (319A-2) is not in effect for this tournament.

 

3.   The Tournament Director reserves the right to re-rate any average before the time the bowler participates in the tournament.

USBC RULE 319C WILL APPLY TO ALL PARTICIPANTS FOR RE-RATING REQUIREMENTS. USBC RULE 319E CONCERNING AVERAGE ADJUSTMENTS WILL APPLY TO ALL ENTRANTS, BOTH MEN AND WOMEN. Rule 319-D shall not be enforced; no winnings verification will be required.

 

4.   It shall be each bowler’s responsibility to verify the accuracy of his or her average whether submitted by the bowler, the team captain or others.  Failure to use the correct average will disqualify their score if submitted average is lower than actual verified average.  If the submitted average is higher than required, prize winnings shall be based on the submitted average.  USBC RULE 319A-3

 

5.  Entrants may bowl more than once in Team event, subject to the following conditions:

A.    No more than (3) three players may compete on the same team more than once.

B.    A bowler may only participate on a maximum of 3 teams

C.    A bowler participating more than once in the team event must count his highest team score for All-Events.

 

6.  Entrants may bowl more than once in Doubles event, subject to the following conditions:

A.    Multiple entrants must have a change in doubles partner.

B.    A bowler may participate in a maximum of 3 doubles entries.

C.    A bowler participating more than once in the Doubles event must count his highest doubles score for All- Events.

D.      Doubles must be bowled during doubles squads only.

7.   Entries will be scheduled based on Team entries first, Singles and Doubles only second and multiple entries last if space permits. Reservations for Doubles and Singles only and multiple entries

      may not be guaranteed based on space availability.

 

8.    NO CHANGES in original submitted line-up for TEAM and DOUBLES may be made once entry is submitted to tournament director.

 

9.   If entry for SINGLES and DOUBLES is not completed, the DOUBLES pairings will be carried over from the TEAM line-up. (i.e. Bowler 1 with  Bowler 2 and so forth)

 

10. The prize ratio for handicap events will be at least 1 for 10 in Team, Doubles, Singles and 1 for 15 for All-Events.

 

11. Team Captains must check their teams in at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time of bowling.

 

12. A substitute shall not participate in the "ALL-EVENTS" prize money, unless they bowled all three (3) events as a substitute for the same person.

 

13. Bowler must bowl handicap event to be eligible to bowl in the scratch event. No scratch only entries accepted.  See rule 14 below for fees.

 

14. Entry fee into scratch singles, doubles, team and all-events shall be $10 per bowler.  Monies shall be distributed based on $8 for prize fund and $2 expenses. No trophies will be provided for scratch events.

     (Totals of $50 for team, $20 for doubles, $10 for singles and $10 for all events). Prize fund based on at least 1 for 15 entries.

 

15.  100% of prize fund for Handicap and Scratch events shall be returned in cash.  No plaques or trophies shall be awarded.

 

16. Squads may be cancelled or added by tournament management based on participation.

 

17. All tournament fees must be paid in full before deadline or entry may be forfeited. All fees must be paid by cash, money order or cashiers check. Personal checks will not be accepted.  Personal checks will be returned for proper payment.

 

18. RESERVATION RULE:  Reservations must be received prior to March 1, 2010. If payment for reserved entries is not received by March 5, 2010 the reservation will be considered void and entry will be assigned on first received,

       first scheduled basis.  Reservations for Doubles and Singles only and multiple entries will not be guaranteed.   Tournament entry deadline shall be March 6, 2010.

 

19. LATE ENTRY RULE: Late entries will be accepted until April 10, 2010. Entry fee for late entries will be $25 per event and entry and monies must be received no later than April 10th. The additional $2 per entry shall go towards expenses.

     Any entry received after April 10th shall be considered a walk-in entry and subject to fees per rule 20.

 

20. WALK-IN ENTRY RULE: Walk-in entries will be allowed up to 45 minutes prior to squad start time and based on space availability and the tournament director’s discretion. The entry fees for all walk-in entries shall be $28 per person per event, with the additional $5 going towards tournament expenses. All walk-in entries will be charged $28 per event, no exceptions.
